Prime Minister Narendra Modi successfully conducted the Pran Pratistha of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir, bringing a historic culmination to the 11-day ‘anushthan’ ritual. Dressed in a golden kurta and cream dhoti, PM Modi actively participated in the ceremonies, carrying a silver ‘chattar’ and undertaking the ‘sankalp’ for the “pran pratishtha ceremony.”

Accompanied by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, UP Governor Anandiben Patel, and CM Yogi Adityanath, the ceremonies were carried out inside the sanctum sanctorum of the newly constructed temple. Army helicopters added to the grandeur by showering flower petals on the temple grounds.

The ceremony, attended by approximately 7,000 special invitees, included notable figures such as Amitabh Bachchan, Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and Sachin Tendulkar. Despite the absence of opposition leaders, the event attracted a diverse gathering, symbolising unity in the celebration of this historic occasion. The consecration rituals commenced on January 16 and reached their pinnacle during the ‘abhijeet muhurta,’ as per the schedule outlined by the trust.

The idol of Ram Lalla, sculpted by Arun Yogiraj of Mysuru, measuring 51 inches, was the focal point of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony. Fourteen couples from different parts of India acted as ‘yajmaans’ (hosts) for the occasion. The idol had been placed in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum on the preceding Thursday.
